Deva Anand

Builds the lab's research software and works on the computational methods behind its text analysis.

Deva Anand is a master's student in Computer Science at UMass Amherst, working across the lab's engineering and its computational research. He is the engineer behind the CCR (Contextualized Construct Representations) platform, which turns the lab's published NLP text-measurement method into a self-serve web tool for researchers, and designed its model registry, its versioned construct library of 99 constructs across 38 questionnaires, and its per-run reproducibility exports, so an analysis can be repeated exactly. He previously worked as a backend engineer, and his interests run to natural language processing, AI safety and mechanistic interpretability, and the systems side of serving machine learning models.
